Welcome to the fleet Daisy Bell. WSBB member Martin Young will explain the latest naming of our new bike.
"Daisy Bell was my mum’s ‘moniker’ or ‘handle’; she used it for her email, but it harks back to the days when she was a farmer’s wife and all the cows in the milking parlour had names - Daisy Bell was one of her favourites.
Whilst mum never liked me riding a motorcycle (or a moped, initially), living at home in a rural location meant a bike was a practical way for her not to have to ferry me about. My dad was really to blame for motorbikes, since he’d always been denied one by his parents.
Mum always asked how Blood Bikes were going whenever we spoke; she knew it was, and still is, a major part of my life and so supported me in that way. Sadly, she died in September 2018 and to mark her support for me, my two brothers and I ensured that a sum of money was bequeathed to WSBB in her will to buy a bike; and so we now have the BMW R1250RT called Daisy Bell as her legacy to our charity" - Martin Young, WSBB7
