On the 27th and 28th of January the Blood Transfusion and Haematology Department at Heartlands Hospital had a Bake Off competition to raise money for WSBB who do a fantastic job for us regularly transporting blood and blood products from the NHSBT to Heartlands and Good Hope hospitals.
Lorraine Gibbs organised the competition and many staff took part baking and donating (and eating).
The 2 esteemed judges, Puja Tank and Pete Rae, had a very difficult task tasting and deciding the winner!
The winner was Arthur Aston with his amazing apple crumble cake followed by Lorraine Gibbs a close second.
Nigel Brookes got a special mention for being the most competitive baker/most entries submitted. We raised a total of £114.16
